The Process of Popcorn Ceiling Removal
Ryan Flores -There are two methods for popcorn ceiling removal: the first method is the more expensive, and time-consuming, while the second is a less time-consuming solution. However, if you’re not in a hurry, the latter option is the more cost-effective option, as it removes the entire surface and allows for future patching and painting. If you’re a beginner, you may want to hire a professional for the job.
If you decide to do it yourself, be prepared to be messy. To prevent any injury, move the furniture out of the way and lay down a drop cloth on the floor. You can also lay down a canvas to prevent the popcorn from sliding. Be sure to tape down plastic sheeting on the top and perimeter of the walls to protect them from getting dirty. This will keep the walls clean. The next step in popcorn ceiling removal is to carefully clean up the area, and then reinstall the ceiling.
If you choose the DIY route, make sure to follow instructions for safe and easy popcorn ceiling removal. Always remember to take care of your drywall and other furnishings while you’re working. Unless the popcorn ceiling is a high-risk area for asbestos, you can use a paint stripper to break through the surface of the popcorn and restore the ceiling to its original look. As with any other DIY project, you should always consult a professional for any asbestos removal.
